This is how we do it...the Dip Dye process of luggage and footwear

Our Luggage and footwear is sourced from the Tuscany region of Italy. We create most of our pieces using a process called “dip dying”. This process requires a great deal of hand work and skill to deliver product of exceptional quality and style. Each piece is initially made from raw leathers, sewn together with the linings, zippers, trims etc all in place. We then “dip” or submerge the product into a large barrel of hot dye. The barrel revolves/tumbles, further softening the already supple leathers, and ensuring full coverage of the colour dye. The heat allows the colour to penetrate the materials, setting colour fast into leathers and natural fabrics at varying gradients. A technical challenge during the dyeing process...

Working class man...The Work-ed Tote Bag

The Work-ed tote bag is crafted in Tuscany, Italy from supple dip dyed Italian calf leathers. Two handles allow it to be worn over the arm or as a shoulder bag. The black cotton lining features two open pockets for phones, wallets etc, as well as a larger zipped pocket to separate valuables. The bag is crafted using the dip dye process,which has reduced the overall size of the bag, but not the metal zip, which helps to give a softer, unconstructed and somewhat unique dishevelled character to the piece.
